ABOUT

Kris Horton

Beginning his career in 2003, shortly after graduating High School, Kris Horton set out to offer his abilities in automotive design and customization to enthusiasts and shops that sought direction in their projects.

Knowing the importance of design direction and having a cohesive vision when building a car or truck, Kris wanted to bring a level of detail and realism to vehicle illustrations that, at the time, was not commonplace.

Using 3D modeling and rendering software, Kris’s designs brought a more grounded vision that would not require an endless budget to achieve. Giving clients a true visual of what the finished product could look like while offering multiple paths to the end result is a key component to Kris’s approach to design.

“I don’t believe in selling someone an impossible fantasy. I want to design something that can be built by hand, in a shop, by real people.”

Over the years, Kris has had the honor of designing custom vehicles and illustrating products for some of the most recognizable brands in the world, including Shelby American, Ford Motor Co., General Motors, Mattel/Hot Wheels, Hasbro, Jada Toys, Holley, Nike, and more.

A long-time automotive enthusiast, Kris enjoys spending his free time working on his cars, which include a 1967 Chevelle, a 1971 Chevelle, and most recently, a 1964 Falcon Sprint.

“Anyone that knows me, knows I’m better at designing cars than I am at turning wrenches, but in recent years I’ve gotten a good bit better at both, thankfully.”

Kris works out of his home design studio in Southern Nevada and is open to commissions.
